The Hollywood Arabian Film Festival has announced the participation of two Saudi Arabian films in the competition for feature-length films during its third edition, held from 17 to 21 April at the Laemmle Glendale cinema in California. The films are "Hajjan" by director Abu Bakr Shawky and "To My Son" by Dhafer L'Abidine. The plot of "Hajjan," written by Omar Shamaa, Mufreh Al-Mujail and Abu Bakr Shawky, revolves around the lives of two brothers, Matar and Ghanem, who live in the Saudi desert. Following a tragic accident, the brothers are forced to compete in a camel festival to retain their prized camel, Hafirah. The cast includes Abdul Mohsen Al-Nimer, Omar Al-Atoumi, Shaima' Tayeb, Azam Al-Nimer, Touleen Barakat, and Ibrahim Al-Husawi. The plot of "To My Son," produced by MBC Studios, focuses on a Saudi father and son who return to Saudi Arabia after a long period of living abroad that was punctuated by a tragic accident. The work is Dhafer L'Abidine's second experience in the field of film direction. The festival's feature-length film competition includes four other films: "Journey 404" from Egypt, "Goodbye Julia" from Sudan, "Divided" from Egypt and "I Miss You" from Switzerland.
