-In 2004, HRH Prince Al Walid Bin Talal bought the library of Fonoun and decided to build up a film production and distribution operation, which became Rotana Studios.

-Rotana Studios acquires, produces, distributes films, TV series and TV films throughout the Middle East and internationally. It owns the largest library of Arabic films covering 80 years of history (more than 1500 titles).

-Rotana Studios films compete regularly in international film festivals.

-Rotana Studios has long term relationship with the key film producers in the Middle East.

-Rotana Studios has specialized teams for production, TV sales, International sales, and marketing. It uses the services of Rotana Group for its DVD and digital Media distribution. It has a strong partnership with Gulf film for Theatrical distribution in Gulf and Levant.

-Already the strongest player in the film industry in the region, Rotana Studios’ goal is to become for the Arabic world what the US Studios are for America.

 

Dr.Hala Sarhan

-Dr. Hala Sarhan is President of Rotana Studios, the leading Arabic content provider in the World and the largest producer and distributor of Arabic films in the Middle East. Rotana Studios has one of the biggest Arabic libraries, ranging from legendary classics to the most recent blockbusters of Arab Cinema.

-Dr. Hala Sarhan has been a leading figure in Arab media for over 30 years. Through her career and dedication to driving the media industry forward, she has helped to establish 5 leading Pan Arab channels. Her controversial talk shows in Egypt made her known as “the Oprah of the Middle East.” After serving 10 years at ART, she became Vice President of Dream TV, the first private Egyptian channel. She joined Rotana Media Group upon its inception in 2003 as Head of Movie Channels, where she established the first open-to-air cinema channels, Rotana Cinema and Zaman. She then became the first President of Rotana Studios in 2005, where she produced 46 films. In 2007, she became a Senior Media Consultant to the Rotana Group, before returning to Rotana Studios as President for the second time in 2010.

-Dr. Hala Sarhan is a journalist and a writer as well, and has also been Chief and Deputy Editor of 3 leading family magazines and published 6 books; one of her short stories was made into the movie, Dantelle.
